Las Vegas, USA

Olie travels to the USA twice each year as part of his work obligations. On this trip he visited Las Vegas for a company conference. Vegas is a unique, lively and artificial city that never sleeps. Activities in this city revolve around gambling, partying and shopping. Great fun for a weekend away, but after several days can become repetitive and expensive (if your unlucky).

The highlight of the trip which did not involve alcohol, was a half day tour provided by Papillion Grand Canyon Helicopters.

The Strip
No post about Las Vegas could be complete without mentioning The Strip where mega casino hotels try to lure in potential punters; and in July where tourists want to hide in to escape the desert heat.

Helicopter Flight
The 30 minute flight offered spectacular views of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. A champagne breakfast was served at the bottom of the Canyon, followed by 30 minutes of free time to absorb the beauty of one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
